The Keratin Lab is a hidden gem inside The Old Timber Yard in Maitland, Cape Town. The industrial setting gives us a larger, open space than most salons get, and we've filled it with elegant touches that make it a warm, inspiring place to spend a few hours.
What began as a home visiting treatment service has grown into a full-service salon. People know us as a treatment salon: every client's hair should be in the best possible condition when they leave. We offer the complete range of hair treatments, colouring and cutting, and we have stayed true to our roots in specialised keratin care.

It's been a while
It's been a while since you were last in. We don't know what your hair has been doing since, and we're not going to guess. Whatever it's been up to, this month we'll add a repairing treatment to whatever you book, at no charge.
A free Cell treatment with anything you book
Book any service and we'll include a Vitaker Cell Therapy treatment at no charge. Keratin, colour, a cut, extensions, anything on the menu. It repairs. It does not straighten, and it will not loosen a curl.
Say WELCOME ME BACK when you book.
Where to say it: on Fresha, type it under "Anything you'd like us to know?" on the Review and confirm page, just before you confirm. Booking over WhatsApp? Just say it in your message. And if you forget, don't worry, we'll honour it anyway.
What a Cell treatment actually is
Colour, heat and time all open tiny gaps inside the strand. Enough of them and hair stretches like elastic when it's wet. Shiny on day one, fragile by month three.
Vitaker Cell Therapy fills those gaps with keratin and amino acids, inside the cortex where the damage actually is. The hair comes out stronger than it went in, with a shine that shows up in photographs.
It will not straighten your hair and it will not loosen your curl. It only rebuilds. If you wear your hair natural, in braids, or under a wig, this is still for you.

It's free and it commits you to nothing. Book a service afterwards and the Cell treatment is still included.
